Mayoral Candidate/ Mural Painting Event a Success

Last Saturday, 10 September, a local Richmond alleyway was a flutter of activity as residents and families came to meet the mayoral candidates whilst painting a garden mural.
There was a great turnout to meet the candidates running for Mayor. David Meates, Phil Mauger, Carl Bromley and the Wizard met Richmond locals and even gave painting a go! They painted bees, birds, suns, and even a digger, alongside children and residents doing the same.
It was a perfect sunny day to brighten up the alleyway. This was the third time We are Richmond (RRBA–Richmond Residents and Business Association) has held this community event. Each time, the mural comes more alive and there is always positive feedback from passersby and residents of the three-storey Housing Development, which overlooks the alley.
The sausage sizzle sponsored by New World Stanmore was popular and grasses were planted at the base of the fence.

A huge thank you to CCC Graffiti Team, who kindly donated the materials needed to make the mural painting a success! Paint, brushes, gloves, aprons, drop cloths, and buckets.
Thank you Stanmore New World for generously donating the food for the sausage sizzle, that so many were able to enjoy.
And thank you to the Richmond Community Garden and the Riverlution Eco Hub for co-sponsoring this event and providing storage space for all of the materials.
