Adventure Avenue Wander 2025

Apr 23, 2025 | Active Richmond, Educate Richmond, Healthy Richmond, Heritage Richmond, RR&BA

We are Richmond partnered with Hayley Guglietta of Avon-Ōtākaro Network to run “Adventure Avenue Wander,” part of the The Walking Festival, in Richmond and Dallington.

Hayley started the day at the play huts of Adventure Avenue–designed and built by Pareawa Banks Ave School students under her guidance.

Then we continued through this forested area to the forested football field and many other areas, finding grapefruits, a mailbox, spotting mushrooms and seeing the THOUSANDS of planted trees.

We crossed Banks Avenue and played at the stunning Dallington Community Garden (81 Banks Ave), “fishing” in the river, and onto Di Madgin’s maintained garden (373 River Road).

Finally we crossed the Medway Bridge and ventured onto part of the new City to Sea Pathway (headed towards New Brighton).

We did a final play on the new wooden structures there.

You can take your family or yourself on this same walk (see in the photos).

Thank you Hayley for taking time to share your knowledge, and We are Richmond and Avon-Ōtākaro Network plan to host this walk every year during the Walking Festival.
