Te Oraka Community Pools Co-Hosted Cleanup 2&3

Volunteers from Shirley Community Trust, We are Richmond and Dallington gathered for their second and third cleanup sessions in March and April at Te Oraka Community Pools.
These former Te Oraka Shirley Intermediate pools haven’t been used in the last few years and were potentially going to be closed. The Te Oraka Community Pools Committee was set up by members from local organisations and residents last year to work together for a solution to keep these pools as a community asset for all members to use, not just students.
So much was accomplished at these second and third sessions! Volunteers of all ages came and so much progress was made!
There will be another event to break down the fence around the border in a few months’ time.
