Roadworks Update for Nicholls Street 19

Jun 10, 2024 | Roading in Richmond, RR&BA

Finally, we hit the big milestone. Nicholls Street is now sealed! Thanks for all your patience and efforts to cooperate with our work.

Now, to ensure the longevity and quality of our new surface, we kindly need your support by following the guidelines below:

  1. Avoid Sharp Turns and Hard Braking: Abrupt maneuvers can dislodge the chips. Please drive smoothly and avoid sudden stops or sharp turns.
  2. Be Mindful of Parking: If you park on the street during weekend, do so carefully. Avoid turning your wheels while stationary as this can damage the surface. Steering while stationary can peel the seal off immediately.
  3. Drive Slowly and Carefully: For the next two weeks, please reduce your speed when driving on the new chipseal. This will help the chips settle properly and reduce the risk of damage.

Please be noted that we will constantly change the traffic set up in one way to allow traffic on different path and compress evenly to the new seal.

Next week, we will carry on Nicholls street footpath work on the West side. On Dudley street, we will continue Stormwater work and starts kerb work on the south side between Nicholls and Stapleton Road.

Residents on Dudley Street should find a letter drop done today for road closure starts on next Friday. We will have road closure set up in sections, the first section will be between Nicholl street and Stapleton Road.
