Roadworks Update for Nicholls Street 18

The chipseal between Dudley St and No.31 Nicholls St is being completed. Here is some useful guidelines to help ensure the longevity and quality of this new surface:
- Avoid Sharp Turns and Hard Braking: Abrupt maneuvers can dislodge the chips. Please drive smoothly and avoid sudden stops or sharp turns.
- Be Mindful of Parking: If you need to park on the street, do so carefully. Avoid turning your wheels while stationary as this can damage the surface. Steering while stationary can peel the seal off immediately.
- Drive Slowly and Carefully: For the next two weeks, please reduce your speed when driving on the new chipseal. This will help the chips settle properly and reduce the risk of damage.
- Drive on Parts of the Lane with Loose Chips: It helps if we spread out the traffic across the lane. Driving on the parts with loose chips will distribute the stress more evenly.
Sweeping Schedule: Normally, we would sweep the loose chips within two days. However, this time of year, we will monitor the road conditions over the next few days and organize sweeping when it is most suitable, depending on the weather and traffic volume.
