Roadworks Update for Nicholls Street 23
We’ve made significant progress thanks to a break in the weather after a month of rain. We began sealing the footpaths last Thursday, and both sides should be sealed by the end of Tuesday, 09/07/24. Following this, there will be major traffic management changes on both streets. The topsoil is still quite fresh at the moment. I know it looks fluffy, but please avoid leaving footprints on it at this stage. Thanks for your cooperation.
Starting Wednesday, 10/07/24, Nicholls Street will open to two-lane traffic, allowing residents to enter and exit from North Avon Road. The landscaping crew will continue working on both sides of Nicholls Street, which may require pedestrian escorts or shoulder closures. Road sweeping may also occur this week, so please drive carefully.
We will be closing Dudley Street between Slater Street and Stapletons Road. If residents living on Dudley Street need daytime urgent access to Dudley Street, please approach from Nicholls Street, where a full-time Traffic Controller will assist you. However, please note that driving on a closed road may void your insurance in case of damage. You can alternatively park nearby and use the footpath on the north side between the trees and fences on Dudley Street.
We plan to pour the kerb between Nicholls Street and Slater Street (south side) on Wednesday, 10/07/24. Residents at 30, 32, and 34 Dudley Street, please move your vehicles by 7 AM. Driveway access will be restored by 5.30 PM.
