MEMBERSHIP

As part of the new Incorporated Societies Act regulations, We Are Richmond (Richmond Residents’ and Business Association Incorporated) requires a Membership Register. Can you help us by signing up to be a member of We are Richmond? This will help us continue our work.

We have updated our Constitution and by becoming an Incorporated Society under the new act, we have access to funding to continue our projects, acting in the best interests of our community. Members can attend monthly meetings (but are not required to), are sent meeting minutes, can vote and nominate members and are encouraged to get involved in any way possible.

We Are Richmond serves and acts for the area of the city bounded by Fitzgerald Avenue, Whitmore Street, Hills Road, Shirley Road, North Parade, Banks Avenue and River Road.

WHY JOIN?

By joining our Association you will be able to enjoy:

  • Full voting rights and the ability to nominate members for positions on the committee at the Annual General Meeting in July
  • Attending our monthly meetings where local concerns and projects are discussed and acted upon (optional)
  • An opportunity to become involved with other enthusiastic, hard-working volunteers who are aiming to make Richmond a better place
  • A direct path for communicating with the City Council to discuss plans and policies which affect our suburb
  • A lively social scene through involvement in our events and other functions
  • Advocating for our business community
  • Making a positive contribution towards the social, physical and environmental well-being of our community
  • Learning about the issues confronting town planners, local bodies and others as they strive to plan for the present and the future
