The representatives of the Richmond Residents and Business Association met recently with the Transport and Roading Group at the Christchurch City Council and we are now able to pass on the following information………………
UPDATE ON IMPROVING THE RICHMOND ROADING NETWORK
FULL ROAD RENEWALS 1 – NICHOLLS AND DUDLEY STREETS
Tender process completed by 30 May, 2023
Construction start 1 July, 2023
Construction end 30 November, 2023
FULL ROAD RENEWALS 2 – STAPLETONS ROAD – WARDEN STREET TO SHIRLEY ROAD
Tender process completed by 30 May, 2023
Construction start 1 July, 2023
Construction end 30 September, 2023
RICHMOND CRAF* PROJECTS
Intersection upgrade at Averill Street and Petrie Street
Intersection upgrade at Averill Street and Stapletons Road
Intersection upgrade at Chancellor Street and Guild Street
Intersection upgrade at Guild Street and Hills Road
Intersection upgrade at Guild Street and Slater Street
New kerb and channel on Slater Street from Guild Street to 75/80 Slater
(currently no delineation between road and footpath)
New speed hump on Slater Street at the Warden Street intersection
New speed hump on Chancellor Street at the Warden Street intersection
New speed hump on Dudley Street at the Slater Street intersection
Slater Street rebuild from Warden Street to Shirley Road
Expected completion date for all of the above – 30 June, 2024
*Christchurch Renewal Amenities Fund (granted by Government in October 2021.)

Dates still to be confirmed with pavement maintenance and street trees teams for road resurfacing and tree protection wheel stops work.
