Matariki Community Weaving Session

This year’s Matariki community weaving session was a beautiful morning spent creating kites/ manu tukutuku for our Ururangi “Winds of the Sky” tree for Matariki at the Shed Gallery at Richmond Community Garden. We collaborated with The White Room Creative Space and used the loom from The Green Lab.
Every year, the week before Matariki, 9 trees are decorated across the Richmond Community Garden, to represent the 9 stars of Matariki. Each tree is decorated by a different organisation. We are Richmond shares our tree with the White Room Creative Space.
The trees are lit at night and you can walk through the Garden with your family and friends to see the different displays!
