Richmond Road Repair Project Update
Craig Given and David Duffy had a site meeting with the contractors and the project manager yesterday to get an update on how the work is progressing. Blessed with a mild winter, the contractors have made good progress as you will see in the report below.
It is hoped to finish the current work in Stapletons Rd by October and work will then move to Warden St – two projects there have been combined into one to hasten progress. If Warden St residents have not received any information about this forthcoming work you can expect to hear soon.
Mike Down’s (site contractor) report follows:
Hi Team
We are now finished on Petrie and Randall Streets including the planting.
Thanks to everyone in the area for putting up with us for many months and for your kind words about our staff and the home baking!! Thanks also to the residents who have been mowing their berms and helping us keep the streets looking tidy.
We have removed the road closure on the Randall / Petrie St intersection tonight so Petrie Street is now complete and open. Please note this intersection now has 4-way Stop signs so please STOP! We will leave the additional set of temporary STOP signs in the middle of the road for a few weeks until everyone gets used to it.
Randall street is also open to all traffic except at the Randall St / Stapletons Rd intersection which is closed.
Our focus now moves to Stapletons Road which will continue through until September /October depending on winter weather delays. The last 3 photos show where we are up to on Stapletons Rd with a lot of the stormwater pipes and sumps installed and preparing for the first kerb & channel pour later this week.
Stapletons Road will be closed to all traffic from later this month until the Sept / Oct completion to allow the road to be excavated and fully reconstructed. Residents will still be able to access their properties.
What other projects are the RR&BA working on?

Petrie Street Repair Update Week 8

Petrie Street Repair Update Week 7
Main aim for week 7 is to allow the watermain advance towards Randall. Having lost one day to rain last week we are anticipating laying the new pipe up to property No.32. The watermain is welded into “strings” each 36m long. We will endeavour to keep them from your...
