Petrie Park BBQ and Maintenance Session

Feb 22, 2026 | Active Richmond, Educate Richmond, Healthy Richmond, Heritage Richmond, RR&BA

We held a fantastic Community BBQ and Working Bee at Petrie Park yesterday! We would like to say thank you everyone who volunteered. We will have another planting/working session on 14 June.

The BBQ kept hot and volunteers cooked up tasty sausages while others worked away tidying plantings and adding bark to this area. Wheelbarrow power and many hands made light work!

Some residents relaxed and had some great conversations under the gazebo, getting to know each other with a cold drink.

Thanks to Summer with your Neighbours funding from our local Community Board Christchurch City Council, and the use of the trailer from Avon-Ōtākaro Network
